YouTube is one of my favourite creative sources for education. Do you know if it is an unpopular opinion to prefer YouTube videos over podcasts? Does it even matter? If you are like me, you might learn best when information is visually and auditorily presented. In regard to sustainability, I realised that I like to learn from people speaking about sustainability. For some reason, it makes me feel more engaged. I can imagine action steps a lot better.

If you prefer auditory information, I want to show you a podcast I like to follow: Sustainability Podcast: WHO’S GONNA SAVE US

Back to the best sustainability TED Talks on YouTube. The sustainability topics of my favourite TED Talks are about understanding sustainability better and finding inspiration to take action. Environmental sustainability is hugely important, but social sustainability is oftentimes neglected.

“We can all play a role in the climate movement by tapping into our skills, resources and networks in ways that bring us satisfaction, says climate leader Ayana Elizabeth Johnson. She suggests drawing a Venn diagram to map these questions: What are you good at? What is the work that needs doing? And what brings you joy? Where your answers intersect is where you should put your climate action effort. “Averting climate catastrophe: this is the work of our lifetimes,” Johnson says.”[From the YouTube description box]

There are easy tips to freshen up your urban home without nasty chemicals.

7 Powerful Ways To Focus On What Is In Your Control

We feel good when we can freely spend our time on what matters most. Understandably, we get frustrated if we are not in control of our precious time. Control is a relevant topic and refers to control over others and control of yourself. The latter is a competency that contributes to your mental and physical health. Unfortunately, we don’t have much control over our lives as we have to stick to working schedules, household chores and other obligations. Acknowledging what is outside of our control and not letting it consume us is an essential step to gaining sovereignty.

Challenging Your Assumptions And Beliefs: 7 Effective Approaches

Nowadays, valid proof is more important than anything. It’s tough to avoid polarising messages as they seem to creep around every corner. Therefore, it’s essential to look at how you perceive the world. From questioning your thinking patterns to considering other people’s perspectives, there are many ways to challenge your assumptions. Those skills help you understand the world a little better and find the reasoning in a conflict-centred world. It’s not easy, but definitely worth your time to deal with how you perceive the world. I want to show you an easy shortcut you can apply every day. Enjoy!

From Hardie To Softie: 7 Soft Skills Which Will Change The World For Good

Soft skills are a resourceful set of traits to contribute to social sustainability. For too long, the positive effects of soft skills have been neglected, but now is the time to shine. The mix of social skills can tremendously contribute to a better sustainable transformation of our lives and well-being. Soft skills aren’t all about better work performance and ethics. We need to shift our focus away from keeping only our economies going, but keeping ourselves alive; emotionally and physically. Developing your soft skills abilities will bring you one step closer to dealing with the world’s challenges.

How AI Is Shaping The Future Of Food Sustainability

Let me introduce you to Reimagine Sustainability’s first guest writer: Sona Ruby Chacko. She is passionate about food sustainability and its impact on the environment. With a background in sustainable development, she brings a unique perspective to the table, exploring the intersection of technology and food sustainability. In her article about AI in food sustainability, Sona discusses the potential of using artificial intelligence to address the challenges of food insecurity and opportunities of technology in the food supply chain. Her research-driven approach and commitment to sustainable solutions make her a valuable contributor to the field of food sustainability.

Climate Anxiety First Aid Kit: Do Not Let Climate Panic Become The Norm

Climate anxiety is a relatively new phenomenon. It occurs when people increasingly see, hear or read bad news about environmental impacts in connection with the climate crisis. Consequently, people are scared of the consequences that make the future look grim. Negative emotions like distress, anger and hopelessness contribute to a spiral of worries that might have a bigger impact on their life than the effects of the climate crisis. Luckily, there are different and simple ways to deal with climate anxiety. No one has to suffer in silence, but it means taking action and taking matters into our hands.

Right Here Right Now: Add This Inspiring Book To Your Sustainability Book List

In this day and age, we need influential and meaningful calls to action. With her second book ‘Right Here Right Now’, Natalie Isaacs shares her and the wisdom of other women in fighting the climate crisis. She is the founder of the global climate action movement 1 Million Women. By introducing you to her book, I hope that it will be as inspiring to you as it was to me. Even better, I attended her book launch event in Brisbane. Hence, I want to share my impressions with you. So, let’s find your potential to lead the way to solve our societal challenges.

10 Meaningless Actions You Can Implement Right Now For Sustainability

What we perceive as meaningless actions can be far from reality. Too often, we underestimate the impact we can make. Don’t forget that one word can change the course of the world. What is really meaningless are words without actions. Call to action will determine our future because every impact we try to achieve matters. So why refer in this article to meaningless actions? Because you are not alone in your doubts about the impact you can make. Therefore, I want to present to you all the meaningless actions which have the potential to make the world a better place.

Why We Need To Understand The Planetary Boundaries

We know all about speed limits, alcohol limits, calorie limits, age limits and so on. Those are limits we have to take individual action on because we are responsible for ourselves. The planetary limits, known as the planetary boundaries, is a collective responsibility of all of us. The planetary boundaries define the environmental limits within which humans can safely exist, develop and thrive. Pushing the Earth’s systems is putting our livelihoods at risk. Therefore, our responsibility is to know our Earth’s limits and operate in ways which lead to prosperity.

Ecoliteracy: The Foundation Of A Forgotten Love Language

Expressing love is not limited solely to human-human interactions. The natural world deserves to be loved and cared for. Unfortunately, knowledge about living within nature’s means disappeared with the rise of industrial and modern societies. Destruction and exploitation are on the daily agendas – not without consequences. Of course, new technologies are developed to tackle our global challenges. However, we cannot solve our challenges with the same mindset which created them. Huge potential lies in the principle of ecoliteracy. It is a way of understanding and appreciating how we can rebuild our relationship with nature – healthily and sustainably.
